Hand-hooked Rugs & Whimsical Folk Art at Old Crow Farm

A cold February here in Vermont.....Brrrr!!!

We are staying quiet at home, enjoying our winter weather and staying by the woodstove when days are chill.

Because of my husband's health, I will be unable to be at the Vermont Hand Crafters Holiday show this year. I hope everyone had wonderful Holidays and enjoyed every minute.

Thankfully, my husband is doing well, but having brain surgery for a malignant tumor is not easy on anyone...let alone someone who is 81 years young!!!! We are so thankful that he is recovering!

A selection of my Santas and hooked rugs can be seen at Grand Isle Art Works at Grand Isle, VT. A great Gallery...visit if you can! ; )

For those of you who have asked...
(My hand hooked rugs range in price from approx $300.00 to $1,500.00, depending upon the size and the design. Chairpads and small pieces are approx $70.00 to $125.00. Thank you asking about the price range of rugs and other hooked pieces!)

I am having a great time working on rugs in a 24 x 24 inch format. This size is great for experimentation! ......You can see more of what I am doing on my Blog (button on the left in the Nav Bar) as I work on a series of these rugs.

.......Directly above is my rug design of "The Young Farmers"... (c) sunnie andress 2012 .....where I depict two brothers with the older brother trying to tell his younger brother how to weed or plant or??? The younger boy is not paying the slightest attention. (saying to himself, "Whatever"!!!) LOL

I am enjoying this experimentation with the 24 x 24 inch format very much!

Thank you for visiting! In this tranquil setting, I hope you will enjoy traveling back with me to a time of "simple folks and gentle pleasures".

These days, my inspiration comes from vintage hooked rugs, old painted furniture, American and European folk art, fraktur illustrations and antique embroidered samplers. I love the colours and motifs and find myself thinking about the lives of those who made these pieces of the past.

Here at Old Crow Farm, I feature my original designs and I also enjoy hooking a limited number of reproductions. My work can be seen and purchased directly from me or at the following locations:
.......................................

Vermont Hand Crafters Holiday Show, Sheraton Hotel, Burlington Vermont in November
Green Mountain Rug Hooking Guild's Rug Show, Shelburne Museum, Vermont in November
Grand Isle Artworks, Grand Isle, Vermont

Most of my designs use wide-cut (#5 to #8 cut) wool strips and are hooked in the folk art style.

IF you can visit the new Grand Isle Art Works gallery please do so! There are always special works for sale as well as the Gallery's many other offerings. I have Hooked rugs and chairpads, as well as Santas and Father Christmas figures in the gallery.

Regarding copyright: My original pattern designs are copyrighted and may not be copied or used for commercial purposes as that is what I get to do with them myself!
My own original patterns are for a one-time use and the patterns may not be copied. However, permission is given for you to sell the finished rug as long as copyright laws are respected and proper credit is given to Sunnie and Old Crow Farm for the design.

My antique reproductions (or close adaptations) are from rugs in the public domain and I do not claim copyright on them! (The rug or pattern description will say Antique Repro or Antique Adapt.)
